Batty

The baby bat
Screamed out in fright,
"Turn on the dark,
I'm afraid of the light."

-Shel Silverstein, A Light in the Attic

If I am reading this right, then it is Shel Silverstein explaining how all truth is relative to our own frame of experience. It isn't just that truth is relative in the sense that I can make it mean what I want, but rather that what it truly is, is of a qualitative difference for one and for another, based on their experience and inner being; that is, who they are in the fundamental principles of their life. So, for the bat, fundamentally, the light is darkness, and darkness is light.
But for me, Monkey Island is the precursor to Indiana Jones. But, if you won't accept that, then let me ask this. Why is there a pirate in the bar fight in Mongolia in Raiders of the Lost Ark? Well, of course, because to understand Indiana Jones, requires understanding the fundamentals of the physics of Scumm Island.
Everyone knows that!
