Alone
He said, "Kelly I don't think I've ever wanted as much To be free as I've longed to be known. And of the things that I hate When I look at my life The worst is my being alone."
I'm not feeling unusually lonely tonight (just normal lonely)...But I was searching around for something interesting to post and remembered these lyrics. I think it's true that 'being known' is something we long for, and in a way, 'known-ness' does stand in opposition to freedom. Relationships create limits and constraints (I have a Chesterton quote that talks about this posted somewhere...).
I agree. I've noticed in myself, at least: whenever I'm the most free, independent, and having adventures on my own; the more I want to share them and myself with other people. I think we all long to be known. Hey, girl who's feeling just "normal lonely", I love you!
